Who runs the index, what it covers, and how it is paid for

Who runs the Canadian Radon Services Index, what it covers, how it is funded, and the rules that keep listings, data and rankings independent of payment.

The Canadian Radon Services Index is a set of radon datasets and recurring reports. SIUYA INC., an Ontario corporation, publishes it. Ben Puzzuoli is its founder and publisher. Plate Lunch Collective, a digital agency in Hawaii and Windsor-Essex, Ontario, designed and built the site. It does not own or publish the Index. The directory is one use of the same records. Every count, badge and list position traces to a dataset field with date and source.

Radon is naturally made, but high indoor levels are a human-made problem. No average, map or postal code tells you your home’s level, only a test does. The Index covers what radon is, the health evidence, radon statistics, testing, mitigation, building codes and standards, provincial and territorial policies and programs, certified professionals and public research.

Every certified provider is listed free, whether or not they pay

Every certified provider gets the full index record, at no charge. Payment never affects who is included or what the record shows. It never affects where a provider sits in a list, the default sort or badge eligibility. The certification information shown is based on public information from the Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP).

A listing is not an endorsement, a recommendation or a guarantee of workmanship, availability, insurance or licensing. It is not a price quote, and it is not a statement that a professional is right for your property. Each provider page lists its certified professionals by name beside their credential type, number, expiry and status, so you can check them. Those names never appear in our downloads, which carry business contact details only.

Find a certified provider and see what each listing shows.

Anything paid is labelled as paid where you can see it

At launch, no provider pays for anything. Every listing shows the same four things:

  • the business name
  • its address
  • a link to its website, with a tag that tells the provider the visit came from this site and nothing about you
  • its phone number

We collect no enquirer data and sell no leads. If we add a paid option after launch, it will be labelled where you can see it. It will never buy a position, a badge or a lead. Badges are never sold, and anything sponsored is labelled sponsored.

Affiliate links appear only on radon test kits and monitors that meet our published device rules, and each is labelled. They never affect which devices are listed, their order or what we say about them.

Payment never changes data, sort order or badges

The directory’s default sort is neutral, alphabetical or by distance, and the page states which. Measured rankings come only from a dated study edition with its sample shown. Third-party review scores are not a source and never appear here. Badges are computed from data against a written, dated criterion.

We do not test homes, perform mitigation, make testing or mitigation equipment, or sell leads to contractors. No company can pay to change factual coverage. We are none of these:

  • Health Canada
  • the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
  • C-NRPP
  • CARST
  • the Cross-Canada Radon Survey working group
  • the Canadian General Standards Board
  • a radon testing or mitigation company

Where their information matters, we link to it.

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say so

When a listing, a number or a date is wrong, we fix it and say so. A business’s registry facts stay in the datasets. No company can pay to be removed from something accurate we have published.

On request, we reduce a provider page to a minimal listing: name, credential status and source. An individual professional can have their name withdrawn from the page. Both are set on the record, and the page is never deleted.
