Terms of use

The terms for using the Canadian Radon Services Index, reusing its data, and how a listed business asks for a correction or a reduced listing.

SIUYA INC. publishes the Canadian Radon Services Index. By using canadianradonservicesindex.ca you agree to these terms. They cover how you may use the site, how you may reuse its data, and how a listed business asks for a correction or a reduced listing.

The site is general information about radon in Canada. It is not medical, legal, engineering, mitigation or real estate advice. It is not a substitute for measuring radon in a specific building.

A listing is a record, not an endorsement or a rating

A listing follows the certification information and method on the directory and methodology pages. Every certified provider is listed free. Payment never affects inclusion, data, rank, sort or badges.

A listing is not an endorsement, a recommendation or a rating. We do not verify a provider’s:

  • insurance
  • licensing
  • workmanship
  • pricing
  • availability
  • business practices
  • suitability for your project

A C-NRPP reference gives certification status only, as of the date shown. We do not present C-NRPP as Canada’s health risk authority. Verify current certification directly with C-NRPP.

Every listing shows the business name, its address, a link to its website and its phone number. No provider pays for anything at launch.

If a listing about your business is wrong, we will fix it at no charge

Tell us what is wrong. We check the request against the registry and correct the listing at no charge.

Errors in the site’s other content go through the corrections page. We use anything you send us, whether a correction, a question or a directory request, in the way the privacy policy and the corrections page explain. Do not send confidential information unless a secure process asks for it.

Registry facts stay; contact details and names can be reduced on request

A business’s registry facts stay in the datasets: its name, its credential status and the source.

On request, we reduce the business’s page to a minimal listing. That listing shows the name, the credential status and the source. Contact details and the table of professionals are removed. An individual professional can ask to have their name withdrawn from the page. We publish business contact details only: address, website and phone.

Reuse the data under its licence; do not scrape it in bulk

Our original datasets and studies are licensed CC BY 4.0, which covers only what we own. A dataset derived from a third party’s data, such as C-NRPP’s directory or the Cross-Canada Radon Survey’s tables, carries no licence statement until its terms are cleared. Where the survey’s terms say its figures and tables may not be altered, we do not alter them. Original writing, graphics and page design remain the publisher’s. Government publications, standards and survey reports stay under their publishers’ terms.

Public datasets are the CSV and JSON download files on each dataset page. Reuse them under the licence shown there and cite the source. Do not scrape the site in bulk or republish a download without the licence’s attribution. These terms also state what we do not verify or promise:

  • We draw facts from government publications, public health organizations, peer-reviewed research, standards bodies, universities and recognized research programs.
  • Guidelines, codes, standards, grants, programs and prices change, and a page can fall out of date between reviews.
  • Check the primary source before a significant health, financial, building or legal decision.
  • Testing and mitigation decisions depend on the building and the circumstances.
  • Health Canada’s current measurement guidance governs how to test.
  • We do not determine whether a particular home is safe or unsafe.
  • We do not control the sites we link to, or answer for their content, availability or privacy practices.

The site provides general information and does not replace professional assessment, testing or advice. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
