How a provider gets listed, what a listing shows, and how badges are earned
How providers get into the Canadian Radon Services Index, what a listing shows, how badges are earned, and how the list is sorted.
A provider is listed because it holds a C-NRPP credential in the public Find a Professional directory, which we read on a dated day and list in full, free. At launch no provider pays for anything, and a listing shows four things: the business name, its address, a link to its website and its phone number. A badge, when one exists, is computed from data against a written, dated criterion, and it cannot be bought. No badge exists at launch.
Every certified provider is listed free, and always will be
Every certified provider gets its full listing here, and payment never hides, shortens or pushes down a record. The records come from C-NRPP’s public Find a Professional directory, pulled on a dated day and read as a registry. The first pull was 18 October 2026. Each provider page shows that date as its last registry check.
A listing is not:
- an endorsement
- a recommendation
- a guarantee of work or insurance
- a price quote
- a sign that a provider suits your home
Check current certification and any provincial or territorial rules before you hire anyone. Each provider page names its certified professionals beside their credential type, number, expiry and status so you can verify them.
When a credential lapses, the page stays at its address and shows “lapsed as of” the date. The provider leaves directory results, segments, badges and place-page counts. The credential fields decide that, never a person. See every certified provider and what each listing shows.
Payment never changes rank, sort order or inclusion
Nobody pays, and there is no paid option. A listing shows:
- the business name
- its address
- a link to its website
- its phone number
The website link carries a tag that tells the provider the visit came from here, and nothing about you. If we ever add a paid option, it would buy presentation only: a logo, photos, a description in the provider’s words, a service-area map and a quote button to their contact channel. It would sit in one box labelled “Supplied by the provider”, marked as not verified by us, with no index data, badge or table inside. It would be a flat fee, never per lead; we collect no enquirer data, sell no leads and count only anonymous clicks.
Payment never touches data, rank, sort, inclusion or badge eligibility: the sort, filter, segment and badge code cannot see the paid flag, which a test enforces. Anything sponsored carries the sponsored label. See where we earn affiliate money.
Badges are earned from data and cannot be bought
No badge exists at launch. We publish the first badge with its criterion, field and date when its data exists. We compute every badge from data. No one assigns one by hand, and we never sell one. Licensing an earned badge for a provider’s own marketing may come later as a paid product.
Every badge states three things:
- the written criterion it was earned against
- the dataset field it derives from
- the date it was last evaluated
A badge with no current data never shows as active. It may show as expired for up to 12 months after it lapsed, and then it is gone. We never import, show or add up third-party review scores or counts. See the record behind every listing, with its pull date.
The directory is sorted alphabetically or by distance, and says which
The rule allows two sorts, alphabetical or by distance, and the sort in use is always shown. Today the directory sorts alphabetically by business name. A segment is a saved filter over dataset fields, and each one states its criteria and its date. No segment is called “best” or “top” without a measured basis, and there are no evergreen ranking pages.
A measured ranking comes only from a dated study edition with its sample size shown and a link to it. We render it from the study’s data and never type it in. The Index is the product: the datasets and the recurring reports. The directory is one use of the same records, so every count, badge and position in a list traces to a dataset field with its date and source. See how every number is labelled and dated.
If a listing about your business is wrong, we fix it at no charge, and the record stays
A correction costs nothing. Write to us through the contact page with the business name, the credential number and the issue. If the error is in the C-NRPP record, update your listing there; we read the registry, and the change shows here at the next pull.
A business’s registry facts stay in the datasets. On request we reduce a page to a minimal listing of name, credential status and source, removing contact details and the professionals table. A professional can have their name withdrawn from the page. Both are set by a field on the record, never by deleting the page. See what happens after you report an error.
