Privacy policy

What the index collects about visitors and listed professionals, what it never collects or sells, and your rights under Canadian law, including in Quebec.

SIUYA INC. publishes and operates this site. We collect only what we need to run the site and to answer people who write to us. We do not sell personal information. We do not pass visitor information to radon contractors as leads. We collect, store and pass on no data about anyone who contacts a listed business from this site.

We sell no leads and pass on no enquirer data

A listing links to the business’s own website. That link carries a tag naming this site as the referrer, so the business can see the visit came from here. The tag carries nothing about you. Whatever you send the business goes to that business. None of it reaches us, and we sell no leads.

Site search runs in your browser from an index served with the site. No query leaves your browser, and we use no third-party search service. We keep no record of what anyone searches for, and a search page sends nothing to our analytics. We count visits with Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies in your browser to tell a new visit from a return visit. We use it only to count visits and see which pages people read. Its advertising features are off, and there is no advertising technology on the site.

Listed professionals’ names come from the public register, and you can ask to have yours withdrawn

A provider page shows each professional’s name beside their credential type, number, expiry and status. The names come from the public C-NRPP register. We show them so a homeowner can verify who tested or fixed their home.

  • Downloads and data files: never carry names, only the credential fields and the business.
  • Business contact details: address, website and phone. No email addresses.
  • Personal contact details: never published. No personal email address or phone number appears on the site.
  • Review data: we import none from third-party sites. A provider page may link to the provider’s own public profile elsewhere.

If your name is on a provider page, you can ask us to withdraw it. A business can ask for its page to be reduced to a minimal listing.

We count page views and keep the messages you send us

This is what we keep about visitors, and what we use it for.

  • Site use: visits and page views, counted by Google Analytics. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga) and receives the page address and your browser’s connection details with each view. Search terms are never sent. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Vercel, which hosts the site, keeps standard server logs to run and secure it.
  • Messages: whatever you send us by email. There is no contact form at launch. We keep a contact message for 12 months and a correction report for 24 months.
  • Submitted radon results: none. We do not accept radon results at launch. If we ever do, this page will say what we collect and why. A result would be treated as information about a building and never published in a way that identifies a household.

Please do not send us any of the following unless your question needs it.

  • Medical records
  • Passwords
  • Government identification numbers
  • Financial information
  • Anything confidential that your question does not need

This is how we handle what we hold.

  • Who processes it: Vercel hosts the site, Google counts page views, and Proton Mail handles our email. Each processes information only as needed to run the site. Each may store data outside Canada, so the law of those places applies to the data they hold.
  • Security: we use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards. No website can promise absolute security. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we report and notify as required.
  • Children: this site is an information resource for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
  • Changes: a material change to this policy carries a new date and, where useful, a note on what changed.
